registration

I am still thinking about getting a dstar. one of the main reasons I would want one is so when I am marine mobile throughout the US I would be able to talk to the wife and friends back home using the dstar system (If I am close to a dstar repeater) . I was reading about this registration and here is my question. Do I have to get registered on each repeater system I acess as I travel, or do I register on the one closest around the house and that will enable me to use all of them ?
Thanks, Jake

You only register with one repeater/gateway system.  Once registered on one system, you can use any gateway/repeater system on the network (sort of like roaming with a cell phone where all repeater/gateway systems are included "partners").

Hope this helps.

yes it does, thank you very much. I was getting worried after reading about registration. It would be difficult to get registered on all the repeaters I go by, LOL.
Thanks again.
