ICOM-2820H
« on: August 06, 2009, 01:33:38 PM »
I have an ICOM-2820H with DSTAR. A friend of mine e-mailed me his icf ICOM 91AD file in the hope that I could download it onto my 2820. I checked out using CHIRP as this states that it will can convert an icf file. This isn't working for me so am I expecting too much or alternatively is it possible to do or not?

Dear radio friend. I faced the same problem with all my ICOM gear. I have IC2820, IC-92D, ID-E880 and IC-2200H. I had to program all the channels i all rigs. The ICOM software is not compatible. It is even not possible to copy and past, wat you normaly can do with text files. I also try to convert to MS Exel... no way! I can not understand why Japanese company´s who make so good hardware make so bad software. It must be possible to make one
software and implement new plugins for new models where you can keep the programmed channels. Best 73 de SM3GDT.
