I want to begin using my D-STAR radio in the car; how do I register it on a "gateway" or with a D-STAR repeater group? We are getting D-STAR in Sumter County, FL, but have to wait for a "commercial" antenna install due to liability. We have half a dozen ARES members trying to practice with the system, but without call sign recognition we are unknowns.

The gateway can be installed and then moved to the repeater site with the repeaters when you have your commercial-grade antennas in. G2 does not require a fixed IP.
