Total noob just saying hello

Hello all, been looking at the forum for a couple of days, lots of good but challenging info out there.
Still awaitng delivery of my rig(s) ID880 for home and IC80 for mobile and portable work, the equipment appears to be tied up in the Christmas insanity, and probably won't see it now till the new year. So at the moment all I can do is bone up on all the info I can ready for an assault on d-star. Already registered on my local repeater so should be able to hit the ground running, or hit the ground face first, not sure which
