HELP!!! How can I get authorized for D- Star (Dutch ham travelling in the USA).

Hi All,

I have the following "problem" I went to the Hamvention in Dayton and bought a DVDongle.
It seems to work with the laptop I brought with me for as far as I can see. I want to really use it to make contact with a fellow ham I met in Dayton.
However... Upon a request to an US gateway operator I got no reply. Maybe on vacation?
A Canadian Operator refused because he could not verify my license.
I'm a dutch ham (PA5BM) and there are NO gateways operators in the Netherlands.
I have my license with me and I'm registered with eg LoTW which maybe counts for something since I had to send paperwork to them in the past.
My question is how can I get registered/authorized to use D-Star while here in the USA? What do I need to do?

Hope someone can help me out...

I have forwarded the message to AA4RC the designer and builder of the DVDongles.  I believe he will be able to get you registered.  If he has not responded in the next few hours we will find an alternate way.
