Hi to All ...
In the DPRSInterface doc " Section 3 - Installation Instructions " we read ...
Icom radios running as trackers (GPS mode) should have their callsign set to be callsign-space(s)-SSID. The SSID is in the 8th character position (last character). The SSID may be any letter or number. Due to D-STAR repeater design, do not use A, B, C, D, G, S, zero, or space.
Well ... up to now assumed that more or less :
*A - SHF 1200 REPEATER
*B - UHF 430 REPEATER
*C - VHF 144 REPEATER
*D - DV DONGLE
E
F
*G - GATEWAY REPEATER
H - DPRS GATEWAY ?
I - DPRS GATEWAY ?
J
K
L - LINK Dextra Echo ...
M - MOBILE
N - NODE HOT-SPOT
O
P - PORTABLE
Q
R
*S - INTERNET SERVICE ?
T

2 - DIGI PORT FREC
3 - = = =
4 - = = =
-5 - YATCH
6 - SAT
7 - PORTABLE
8 - BOAT
9 - MOBILE
10 - INET USE
11 - BALLON
12 - LARGE TRUCK
* D-STAR REPEATER DESIGN
DS only in LOGIN of APRS-IS
And with the last WB4APR recommendations :
-0 Your primary station, usually fixed and message capable.
-1 Additional station, digi, mobile, weather station etc.
-2 Additional station, digi, mobile, weather station etc.
-3 Additional station, digi, mobile, weather station etc.
-4 Additional station, digi, mobile, weather station etc.
-5 Network sources (smartphones etc.)
-6 Special activity, e.g. satellite operations, camping, 50MHz etc.
-7 Handheld radios and other human portables.
-8 Boats, RVs or second mobile.
-9 Primary mobile.
-10 Internet gateways, Echolink, Winlink, AVRS, APRN, etc.
-11 Balloons, aircraft, spacecraft, etc.
-12 APRStt, DTMF, RFID devices, trackers etc.
-13 Weather stations.
-14 Truckers or other full time drivers.
-15 Additional station, digi, mobile, weather station etc.
With regard to the SSID formed with numbers, without problems ... but with regard to the SSID formed with letters, does the mess of the APRS begin?, is there some reliable list of which and so that they should be used?
Thankīs
