Traffic protocol query.

Hi,
  My internet access is via a wireless WAN. I don't have access to the router if there  any requirements to open ports to run a D Star dongle from my qth here near Malaga. Very similar to a WIFI access point in a hotel.
  I have been attempting to get Echolink to work with no success. I have also tried a VPN with a static IP address with all ports open (allegedly) with no success. Echolink is peer to peer with UDP ports and TCP ports requiring to be opened by the user.
  Will D Star work over a Wireless WAN (subject to bandwidth and speed of course) with no setting up on any router or suchlike.
  Running the speed test from www.speedtest.net my speeds are 1189 kbs download and 83 kbs upload.

   Any advice welcomed.
